Crimson win Step 1 over Rosevile 49 - 7.

Playoff football!  What a treat it was to be out there last Friday night for a Senior class that has had to wait 728 days since their last game of post season action.   After a slow start, we found momentum late in the first quarter and ran out to a 49 - 7 victory over a well-coached Roseville team.

Defensively, we started slow allowing a ten minute drive to start the game, but their resilience paid off as Michael Ross picked of a pass inside our ten yard line to allow no points on the drive.  After that, our defense got back to what they take pride in causing turnovers and creating short fields for our offense leading to quick points.    We had three players with over ten tackles in Seniors Sawyer Skanson, Cade Cook and junior Jackson Powers., and Senior Jace Uzzell forced two fumbles and had 9 tackles of his own.  We face a big physical opponent next week that will offer a great challenge to this group so I look forward to watching them perform.

Offensively, we were very efficient with our possessions scoring quickly on many of them.   Jacob Kilzer had a great game at quarterback rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for three while Tanner Albeck continued his strong season with two receiving touchdowns.  Junior Jacob Anderson found the endzone for the first time this year as a tailback and Derrick Jameson continued his season long quest of over ten yards a carry.   Hopefully this group continues to take advantage of the situations given to them and keep finding the end zone as the playoffs progress.

Our special teams did a nice job as well last week as Connor Fournier continued his strong kicking hitting all seven of his extra points and Derrick Jameson found the end zone again as a punt returner with the third touchdown of the year in that role.   This is always the difference maker come playoff time, so we need to keep making this a positive for us throughout.

Next Friday we play East Ridge.   They are a very talented team with big bodies that will provide a great challenge for us in our final home game of the year at The Grove.  We have earned the right to be here, so let's take advantage of our home surroundings, get the Grove rocking, and make it a special finale!  It should be a blast!  Great football on a Friday night in November!  Nothing like it!

GO CRIMSON!
