Crimson Score the first 38 on their road to Victory

On a cloudy, drizzly night in Fridley, the Crimson took the field against a 1-0 improved Totino-Grace and came away victorious, 45 - 7.   In front of a packed Student section that traveled unbelievably well, we were able to jump to an early lead behind an opportunistic defense and an offense that capitalized throughout allowing us to go into halftime with a 31 - 0 lead.

Defensively, they again created opportunities for our offense and scored themselves for the 2nd straight week.   Tanner Albeck continued his education to the position as he had 10 total tackles and a sack.   Jett Uzzell made a ton of plays from his outside backer position with 9 total tackles and a sack while Cayden Vokal had 6 total tackles, a sack, and his fourth fumble recovery of the year.  Senior Michael Ross had 6 tackles and a pick six and junior Owen Smith made a big impact with six tackles on the night.   This side of the ball has to keep getting better week in and week out and they have been facing challenges throughout the year and stepping up.   We always count on this group and they have been delivering during the first two weeks.

Offensively, we did not play many snaps, but was able to capitalize on the moments that were needed to give us a good lead.   Charlie Rausch had 78 yards on only five carries with his third touchdown of the year.    Jacob Kilzer continued his strong play with 63 yards rushing and 65 yards passing with 2 TDs.   Sam Peters kept taking advantage of his moments with 2 touchdown catches for 38 yards, and Jordan Olagbaju rushed for a touchdown as well.   This group is still improving and finding its identity as challenges keep arising from week to week.    It will be fun to see them compete on a weekly basis with an offensive line that will continue to get better.

Our Special Teams had great moments and things that need improving.    Connor Fournier kicked his first field goal of the year, and Ben Jameson continued finding the endzone with three more touchbacks.   One of the most exciting plays of the day was Sophomore Dylan Vokal was able to run a punt back for a touchdown.   There are areas that still need to improve, and it will be great to watch it develop.   They definitely can be a big asset for this team throughout the year.

Next week will be a ton of fun as we go into Minnetonka to take on the fifth rated Minnetonka Skippers.   They are a very talented team that will provide a great challenge so it will be a blast to take them on in their stadium on Friday night!   This team has faced many challenges along the way, so this will be another one that is going to make us better and provide us many things that will improve us going into playoff time.    Let's fill the place up, get loud, and make it Crimson!   Let's walk out of Tonka this week with a W!  GO CRIMSON
