Big 2nd and 3rd quarter Build and Insurmountable Lead

On our 2nd Thursday night home game of the season, The Crimson used a total team effort to dismantle the Rebels 43 - 14 in front of our home crowd.  The outcome was one that should solidify us in our section and give us a great chance heading into these final three weeks of the season.

Defensively, outside of one big play in the first quarter, we controlled the game and created great field position for the offense.   Cooper Schmidt made a huge play in the first quarter with a tackle for safety that catapulted a 36 point run for the Crimson.    Cayden Vokal led the team with 6 tackles this week and Tanner Albeck continued his strong play with 5 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a forced fumble.   Jett Uzzell keeps making a huge impact with an interception, a fumble recovery, and four tackles while Henry Stang added four tackles of his own.   This side of the ball is the foundation for our team so it is fun to see them improving on a weekly basis and heading towards a successful playoff run.

Offensively, we ran the ball with great effectiveness as Jordan Olagbaju ran for 122 yards on 17 carries and 3 TDS, and quarterback Jacob Kilzer ran for 161 yards on 18 carries with two TDs.  With 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, our team had run for 293 yards already, so it was fun to see our offensive line of Gus Gruenig, Max Draheim, Christian Platek, Hunter Gerber, Andrew Dotzenrod and sophomore tight end Nathan Hromadka leading the way.    There is nothing that says November football like a good running game, so this will propel us to great things in future weeks.

Our special teams continues to be a roller coaster with great moments and moments that cannot happen come playoff time.   Our kickoff return struggled with pooch kicks, but we will right that ship, and our punt team continues to be a work in progress.   Connor Fournier continues to do great things with his 24th consecutive extra point and Ben Jameson keeps pounding touchbacks on a regular basis.   We learned last year how much special teams means come playoff time, so this is an area we have to sure up.

Next week, we get to go into Wayzata and take on the Trojans.  An atmosphere and a game that is always a blast to be in, we need to have our best week of preparation, so we go in playing at a level that represents Crimson football.   We need all of our fans filling their stadium and turning the palace on Peony in to the land of Crimson Crazies!.  Cannot wait for week six to come upon us!  It's time to keep getting better!   Go Crimson!
